Number One and Two:
Hello, I am a soldier that was enrolled in Alexander’s army.
Although I was only in the army for a short amount of time, I found out that
Alexander was truly great. Now, this was about 10 years ago but I do recall
most of it. Alexander was considered a conqueror, a king of Macedonia, and a
great general. He led us through many battles and marches. And he was very
smart because he was taught by Aristotle. Although sometimes we were exhausted
and missed our family we still did our job, and proved to him we were a great
army to lead. We first invaded Persia. We did this because this was part of
Alexander’s dads plan before he died. Later, we marched to the Indus Valley but
since we were too exhausted we turned back and went to see our wonderful
families!
Alexander is referred to as being great because he changed the
way the culture is and has influenced the society majorly. In my opinion he is
kind, well-rounded, and confident. He is amazing because he knows how to be
violent enough to get land but not overly violent into where everyone would
quit. He even has cities that he founded and named!
During this time, many different cultures were being blended
together which became known as the Hellenistic culture. This culture was a
mixture of Greek, Persian, Indian, and Egyptian cultures. This helped the
kingdom as a whole because it developed new ways of thinking and new ways of
culture. This created great diversity throughout the kingdom and throughout
Greece.
Number Three:
A
historical figure that is considered to be great is George Washington. George
Washington did not want to be president, in fact he turned down presidency
twice but the people finally convinced him. He lived in Virginia and was born
into a family of great farmers. He then became a surveyor of the county that he
lived in. Later, he married Martha Custis and joined the House of Burgesses. In
1775 he was selected to be the General of the Army. He led the army through
many battles and had great characteristics of leadership and maturity. These
characteristics were helpful when losing a battle or when losing people in a
battle. Later he was elected President of the United States, he was our first
president. He and Alexander shared similar qualities such as, being leaders,
generals, and both being very intelligent in what they do. Alexander and
Washington were both presidents/kings of countries and commanders of armies.
Without Washington or Alexander our society would not be where it is today.
They both were the foundation of our civilization.

i agree on how Alexander and George are both great military leaders. most people base their opinions of alexander on his morality and personality, but i like how you looked at his good qualities. Alexander may not have been a great person, but he was an amazing military leader.
ReplyDeleteI had never thought much about how Alexander influenced life today. Your first third post really made me think about this! It was also cool that you compared him to George Washington. They had things in common and both impacted society, even if they did so in different ways.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really seen very many posts about how Alexander was actually great. It's nice to see both sides of the argument. I also liked your comparison to George Washington.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your points on how Alexander and George Washington are similar. I did the same person for question 3 but your argument is way more convincing!
