How did Hellenistic Culture help/hurt Alexander's Empire?

Dear Journal,

Alexander has almost conquered the entire east, and is moving towards Asia. He has taken the cultures of everywhere he went, and smeared them together to create Hellenism. Hellenism has done a lot of good for his empire; without it, the conquered empires and city states would grow apart, tearing the Alexandrian empire apart. With all the good it has done for Alexander, I can’t say I like it myself. My culture, Persian, has been mixed and much of it lost forever; the records of my city were destroyed in the fire. It is only a matter of time before the authentic person culture is lost completely.

Even though my culture has been consumed, it has allowed many more people to become educated. It also allowed for easier trade between places, because Alexander bridged the gap, and connected them. I just wish my family had been included in the culture, now we are just slaves and prisoners that will never be educated. Alexander considers himself a liberator, but I call him a tyrant. I wouldn’t mind Hellenism if I were not a prisoner, but not if this is the end of the deal I get. I understand that the one unified culture binds his empire together, but this is one empire I don’t want to be connected.
